When our family unexpectedly received orders to the Mojave Desert, we were forced to drastically downsize. This is how I came up with the idea for the Stressless PCS Kit.
You see, I know what it’s like to spend countless hours and TOO much money preparing for a move.
After 6 moves in 10 years, I have purchased countless colored duct tape rolls, labels of all shapes, sizes and colors, packages of ink to print on those labels, and every single permanent marker color you can think of!
None of these items provided a solution in keeping our Household Goods (HHGs) organized in the sea of brown boxes that were loaded in a truck and offloaded into our new residence.
No home, whether it is on or off the installation, is the same. At each pack-out, I found myself:
- Writing contents on each box so I knew exactly what was packed.
- Labeling boxes as ‘CRITICAL’, so I knew which ones to open first.
- Placing our contact information on all boxes in case it was lost or mixed in with another shipment.
As a mom to two young boys, wife to a soldier, working military spouse and full time entrepreneur, maintaining a sense of organization is a must in this life. I thrive off of efficiency and organization, especially during times of turbulence.
